Virtual Cookie Swap Day!

I had planned on getting this up yesterday, but maybe it was a Friday the 13th thing, I just didn't have enough hours in the day!

So, like I was saying they other day - this whole idea came about because I was thinking about school fund raisers (since we are headed into that time of the year) and something that would be a bit different - something fresh. and Yummy. and Chocolatey... after all who doesn't love chocolate? Or maybe that's just me?

Anyway, the idea would be that everyone could bring in their favorite cookies on a plate, along with the recipe, printed out on a card. Then set it up silent auction style and have everyone bidding for their favorite cookies. Providing the recipes would serve the purpose of getting a bit more 'bang for your buck' - not only do you get to eat this plate but now you can make them any time you like! It also would provide information in case of food allergies or dietary restrictions. Perfect, right?

You could also include a binder with matching stationery to drive up those bids even more! How awesome is that?

For instance, how about something like this?

With matching stationery to write out recipes:

And the recipe card for the plate of cookies?

The back is already set up for you to write out the recipe (just like on the matching stationery). How convenient!

This is also perfect for anyone who has a catering business or someone who bakes for a little extra income in their home!

Here are some fellow Zazzler's favorite binders for keeping their own recipes organized! Take a look and click on your favorite! Make sure you scroll to the bottom to find the hidden jewel: Chocolate Chip Cranberry Cookies!

And Finally, what good is a cookie swap without at least one yummy cookie recipe?

Yummy Chocolate Chip Cranberry Cookies

Ingredients:

2 sticks Unsalted Butter
¾ cups Dark Brown Sugar
¾ cups White Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Real Vanilla
2 whole Eggs
2-¼ cups All-purpose Flour
1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
1 cup chocolate covered cranberries

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl cream the butter until fluffy. Add the dark brown sugar, mix and then add the white sugar and mix some more. Add salt and baking soda. Next add the vanilla. Add one egg at a time and mix in between each one. Slowly add a little flour at a time until all is incorporated, mixing after each addition. Lastly add the chocolate chips abd cranberries and stir to combine.

Form small rounded balls of cookie dough and place two inches apart on a baking sheet (lined or unlined, as long as it is non-stick). Bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and remove to a wire rack for further cooling.
