Wow... I have been so busy over the past couple of months - it's crazy!
Besides being a SAHM, I am a freelance graphic artist, own two Zazzle stores: Notions by Nique and Noteable Expressions, and also am freelancing designing Science Fair Projects for a company. And now? Now I'm starting a blog as well, just in case anyone is interested in some of the things I am up to or tips I've learned over the years (in what seems like another lifetime, I was a party planner as well!).
My latest "project" has been to get Noteable Expressions up and going on Zazzle. For anyone not familiar with Zazzle, it is a POD - a Print on Demand - service. You can either browse through designs that many talented artists have created or even create your own - and have those printed on a variety of products, from t-shirts to binders, tennis shoes to business cards. With Notions by Nique there is more of an eclectic mix of designs I have done. I have t-shirts, greetings cards, aprons, bags, magnets, art prints, and so much more! But then I decided I wanted to design some things for more formal occasions - like weddings, or business cards and I just didn't see it really fitting in with Notions by Nique - so I created Noteable Expressions (and yes, I spelled it incorrectly on purpose ;-) ). At Noteable Expressions there will be fewer categories: Weddings, Business cards, and Stationery. So depending on what you are looking for, you can visit either shop!
So who am I?
I grew up in an artistic family and have always been drawn to creative outlets. Just ask my husband! One day he came home after work and one wall of our dining room had a ceiling to floor mural of an English formal garden painted on it. I got bored. A very dangerous thing! I've colored (and still love to - I just finally have an excuse - my youngest daughter), used pencils, pen & ink, painted with acrylics (I sold my first painting at 16), but several years ago I started working with computer graphic programs. As a primarily self-taught designer, I work hard to create designs that reflect the contemporary feel of today's modern view without leaving behind the charm and classic elegance of the past.
I hope you enjoy what I share, and please feel free to chime in at any time!
Until tomorrow,
Create your own inspiration!
~Nique
