The End of Summer and Looking Forward to Halloween

Wow - I logged in to Facebook this morning and saw a lot of people were already heading back to school - Can I ask? Where did summer go? Why is it that summers really seemed to last so much longer when I was a kid? Maybe it's just because I grew up in Texas so summer seemed so much longer when every day seems like it hit 100+ degrees.
