Tips 101: 3-6 Months Before Your Wedding

To continue with some handy tips - start looking into these things 3-6 months before your wedding

• Finalize your guest list
• Order save the date cards, wedding invitations, (separate reception invitations if you need), response cards, place cards, announcements, thank you cards, table number tent cards. Always order extra invitations in case you get extra guests added to your list or make mistakes while addressing. It’s cheaper to order them from the beginning and it saves you the last minute panic.
• Send out Save the Date cards – these are optional but nice if you have a lot of people traveling to attend your wedding since they will need to make travel arrangements
• Address invitations and announcement as soon as possible
• Begin making final decision and arrangements for the ceremony and reception, including food, music, rental equipment, and flowers
• Sign contracts and make deposits for your vendors
• Plan rehearsal dinner: time, menu, guest list
• Reserve a block of hotel rooms for out of town guests

Great Weekend and a Milestone at Noteable Expressions

Something New!

This past weekend I did something I love to do, a photo shoot - just for the fun of it. I love trying to find just the right shot that shows a mood or emotion. One of my favorite models is Rachel. She is beautiful, a natural in front of the camera and has fun just acting goofy in front of the camera. We decided to try doing some posters from the shoot this time.

Model Rachel is a natural in front of the camera. Here she photographed against a brick wall looking up into the camera. She is wearing a dress that reminds us of the 1980s - with a fitted top in a red plaid and tutu skirt paired with a black leather jacket and black hi-tops. The photograph has been treated with photoshop with a sepia tone and burned edges. She definately has a fun, funky look!

Things to think about 6-12 Months Before Your Wedding
• Announce the engagement: use formal announcement and/or a newspaper
• Choose a wedding date/time
• Decide the style and size wedding that you want – any special theme?
• Set a budget
• Hire Wedding Consultant if you are planning to
• Start your wedding planner or notebook – helps to keep you organized
• Reserve your ceremony location and reception location
• Choose and invite your attendants
• Choose your officiant
• Create a preliminary guest list – include addresses and relationships (in case you later need to trim the list down). Ask parents to do the same so you don’t get any surprises later
• Shop for your wedding dress – order at least 6-8 months in advance if at all possible
• If you are planning a honeymoon, begin making your decisions now and if you are leaving the country make sure you have your passport up to date and know any visa requirements
• Interview any Vendors you may decide on:
o Caterer
o Florist
o Photographer
