With September almost half way over, thoughts of cooler weather and gentle breezes usually invoke a feeling of new beginnings. Along with the beginning of a new school season and the beginning of fall festivals is the beginning of new chapters in life. According to The Knot, September, is one of the most popular months for weddings. Winter is also a popular season for weddings, with the romantic setting of white snow blanketing the Earth and icicles hanging from the eaves of historic Victorian buildings. Below is a list for the new wedding trends for fall & winter 2012.
Wedding Theme
One of the most popular fall themes this year is Rustic Romantic. Think large reception halls, elegant chandeliers, and long wooden tables. You can go soft and rustic with wildflowers or throw in a touch of elegance with peach, tangerine or orange roses. If you are lucky enough to book a barn for your venue - don't forget the twinkle lights.
The Wedding Dress
Ok ladies, I'm not even going to save the best for last. For any bride, the wedding dress is the creme de la creme of the wedding! Kate Middleton has influenced this year’s trend for out-of-the-ordinary dresses. Think vintage lace, illusion sleeves, colored gowns, and sheer backs.
Wedding Makeup
Color is definately in fashion this season with golden makeup & golden highlights for the fall weddings and soft natural smokey eyes paired with light pink lips for the winter weddings. Neutral eyes and bright red lipstick is also on the rise for the weddings this year.
Wedding Jewelry
This year’s wedding trends incorporate lots of color and this extends to jewelry as well. Long gone are the white pearls and dainty white diamonds. Vintage jewelry pairs well with the lacy wedding gowns and jeweled hair accessories. Big bold earrings stand out in the Rustic Romantic reception halls, and don’t forget the bright bangles and bold gems!
Bridal Hair Styles
For fall & winter weddings, wear the hair up in a loose low bun and incorporate hats and jeweled hair accessories. For the vintage look, try loose braids twisted up and around, or the classic 50’s side swept waves.
Wedding Colors, Colors, and Colors
This year, tangerine was selected as Pantone’s color of the year and fall is a great season to incorporate the beautiful hues of orange into your wedding. "Brides are not just carrying orange-hued bouquets, they are incorporating the color into their Big Day make-up looks and sporting bright orange nails," says Huffington Post, "colors like tangerine or coral are a nice addition to the color palette without being too bold.
